John has been building MindTime software since the late 1990s, through the early internet and every platform shift since, all the way to today’s AI. This is not a framework that recently discovered technology. It is nearly three decades of technology built around one idea: giving people a way to see how they, and the people around them, actually think.
A builder since the early internet
The earliest MindTime tools mapped audiences, revealed individual thinking styles, and made team and group cognition visible. John also created a physical MindTime card deck for exploring how individuals, couples, and groups think. Through every wave of technology since, the work has kept evolving toward the same goal. Along the way MindTime has mapped the thinking styles of more than a million people and been translated into eight languages across three language groups. What follows is where the work stands today.
MindTime AI (MTAI)
The foundation. MindTime AI is the cognitive layer that lets a system understand how a person thinks, not just what they typed. By giving AI an openly measured model of thinking style, it turns a probabilistic system into a predictive one. Everything below runs on it.
Clara
An AI thinking partner built on cognitive science rather than a generic language model. Clara learns the pattern of your perception, the defaults you reach for without noticing, and helps you put it to work: reading a room, preparing for a hard conversation, making a decision, hiring, selling. You build your thinking-style profile in under four minutes, and Clara adapts from there. There is a personal version, and Clara for Teams, which gives a group a shared language for its differences.
Team Intelligence—Enterprise
A platform that gives an entire organisation a living map of how its people think. Team Intelligence makes cognitive differences legible across a company: where the blind spots are, where the bright spots are, and how to balance a team for both innovation and execution. It puts cognition-aware AI in the hands of every team, and it is built for organisations that want this as shared infrastructure.
Team Intelligence—Self-Serve
The same intelligence, open to anyone. A team lead or a small group can sign up, discover their thinking styles, and start using the tools in minutes. No procurement, no gatekeeper. This is how cognitive inclusion at scale actually starts: one team at a time, on their own terms.
MindTime Visual Analytics
MindTime Visual Analytics is the layer that makes cognition visible, and it does far more than chart an audience, though it does that too. It reads content itself. Point it at a website, a PDF, an email, or a landing page, and it tells you which thinking styles that content will resonate with. Overlay that on a map of your actual audience, with the centroid of the content’s resonance on the same map, and you have a content-tuning system without equal. You can see whether what you have written will land with the people you are trying to reach, and adjust until it does.
One thing worth saying about all of this: the technology has always been a means, not the end. The MindTime Profile has been free to the public for more than twenty years, and much of that million-plus took it at no cost. The mission has always been people: a universal way to help people understand people. Technology has simply been the palette.
